Have you made a difference today?

One of the greatest feelings in the world is the joy from really seeing that you have positively affected someone’s life. To be able to see how some simple intervention can be such a life changing experience.

Everyday is a new chance

Each day we start to work through our schedules is a fresh chance for making a huge difference. We never know when it might happen or where. It is always a surprise. It can come from our easiest treatment of the day or our most challenging.

Sometimes the smallest gain might wind up being that one moment that is the breakthrough and a huge impact to that resident. It could be the the day that makes the difference.

One step or one transfer could be the big break

Sometimes it the simple first step, or the first time needing less assistance to stand up to a walker. These could be the stepping stones that make the huge change and allow you to make a difference.

Sometimes it might even not be the resident that you make the impact on

With the amount of interactions we have all through the day, the person you make a difference in for the day could be anyone you interact with. It could be a family member, a spouse, a staff member or even a fellow therapist. How lucky we are to have this kind of career that allow such possibilities. I love what I do and try to find something to say thank you for everyday. I get to make a difference.
